Finally got a copy of Canoma off of ebay. Adobe bought it a few years ago, and have been sitting on it since then. I would expect it to become part of Atmosphere at some point. The only other viable alternative now is Realviz Imagemodler which is much more powerful but also cost a lot more (but price is dropping a lot.

The basic concept here is to take photographs from a variety of angles and then generate 3d data from these while mapping the photo to the surfaces at the same time. The results can be much better than what I have shown below, although I expect will always have that video game feel to them (of course this is similar to how they are made).

The ballpark example below was made from around 10 photographs, I did not finish the ballpark; just wanted to get a feel for the interface of Canoma. I have added a second example made of a new building near Front and Auction that was created from 6 photographs.

Although animation is built into the software it can also export to DXF and VRML for use in 3rd party software. I expect the best use of this is to generate large amounts of site modeling in which a more detailed architectural model will be placed of an unbuilt project.
